Slay Bells on the Slopes
Christmas Ski-Lodge
Plot:
Christmas Eve has settled over an exclusive alpine ski lodge, but a fierce snowstorm has buried the access road and trapped every guest inside. The fire is glowing, festive music fills the lounge, and the evening’s après-ski celebration is about to begin—until Jasper disappears.
At approximately 6:40 p.m., Jasper is discovered dead on the snowy terrace outside Suite 312. A broken piece of sharpened carbon ski equipment lies nearby, suggesting this was no ordinary mountain accident.
Before the celebration, Jasper had been investigating a shipment of expired and suspiciously certified avalanche beacons hidden inside the lodge workshop. Several people had powerful reasons to prevent the truth from becoming public: the lodge could face financial ruin, valuable sponsorships could collapse, a Christmas charity campaign could be exposed, and professional careers could be destroyed.
With no way to leave before morning, the guests must uncover secrets, compare alibis, examine physical evidence, and reconstruct Jasper’s final meeting. But in this snowbound lodge, almost everyone is hiding something—and the killer may not even know their own role in the crime until the final reveal.
Capital of Mystery
How it plays:
Players receive unique character folios containing secrets, objectives, alibis, suspicions, and conversation prompts. Across three acts, everyone freely mingles, questions suspects, trades information, examines evidence, and builds a theory before submitting a final accusation. The host secretly selects one of four possible solutions, and even the chosen killer does not learn the truth until the final reveal.
Perfect for:
Christmas dinners, holiday parties, family gatherings, office celebrations, ski-lodge weekends, and festive game nights with 4–30 players. Ideal for groups wanting an immersive, replayable murder mystery without memorising scripts.

No. Players are not expected to read long scripts or memorise dialogue. Each character receives secrets, goals, clues, suspicions, alibis, and flexible conversation prompts for natural, freeform play.
No. The selected killer investigates alongside everyone else and only discovers the truth when the host provides their sealed confession page after the final ballots.
Yes. The host can secretly choose from four different killer solutions. Each version uses a different motive clue, final proof card, solution guide, and confession page.
Yes. The three-act structure works well around a meal. You can play Act 1 before dinner, Act 2 between courses, and Act 3 before dessert and the final reveal.
Costumes are optional, but they make the experience more immersive. The kit also includes voting for Best Costume and Best Acting Performance.
Preparation is straightforward: choose one killer version, assign the correct number of characters, print the materials, separate the evidence by act, and keep the selected solution and confession page hidden.
The game works best with a dedicated host. The host may play only when another trusted person controls the evidence order, selected solution, ballots, and sealed confession.
The game has a medium difficulty level. Players must combine motive, means, opportunity, timelines, and physical evidence rather than relying on one obvious clue.

Reviews from Real Detectives
"The Greed & Gouda kit turned our ordinary Saturday dinner into a full-blown Wall Street whodunit. The host script was fool-proof — even for first-timers. Our guests are already begging for the next game night!"
"I needed a fresh idea for our remote team social. The mystery kept 24 coworkers laughing and collaborating for two solid hours. HR is making this a standing tradition."
"We ran the mystery for my daughter's birthday on Zoom. The story was clean, the clues were challenging, and setup took less than an hour. Parents messaged me asking where to buy their own kit."
"I've purchased mystery kits from three other sites. None matched the polish of Capital of Mystery. Instant downloads, gorgeous PDFs, and clear Host vs. Player sections — zero spoilers. Five stars."
"We hosted the 1920s Speakeasy game for a birthday dinner and everyone stayed in character longer than expected. The evidence cards made the night feel organized but still gave everyone room to improvise."
"The game worked perfectly for our group of 18. I loved that the instructions were clear, the roles felt balanced, and even quieter guests had useful secrets and clues to share."
"I was nervous about hosting for the first time, but the host guide made it easy. We printed everything the same afternoon and played that night. The final reveal got a huge reaction."
