Who Sleighed Santa?
Cozy Christmas-Eve
Plot:
Every Christmas Eve, the villagers of Hollyridge gather at Hollyridge Hall for an evening of glowing candles, festive food, cheerful carols, charitable giving, and the traditional midnight sleigh ride led by their beloved local Santa, Old Nicholas.
But this year, the celebration is hiding more than Christmas cheer. The charity ledger does not balance, donations meant for struggling families have disappeared, and Old Nicholas has begun asking uncomfortable questions. Around the hall, whispers spread about unpaid debts, damaged reputations, family conflict, failing businesses, secret complaints, and old resentments.
Then, moments before the midnight ride, Old Nicholas steps outside toward the lantern-lit sleigh lane.
A cry breaks through the winter night.
Santa is found dead beside his sleigh. The reins are tangled, the whip is broken, and the snow bears signs that someone followed him outside. Someone confronted him. Someone had a secret worth protecting—and someone tried to make the death look like a tragic accident.
Over three suspenseful Acts, guests will step into character, reveal secrets, question one another, trade information, examine physical evidence, test alibis, and decide who had the motive, means, and opportunity to “sleigh” Santa.
The host secretly selects one of four possible solutions before the game begins, making the mystery replayable with a different hidden culprit. Even the chosen killer does not know the truth until the final ballots are collected and the sealed confession is opened.
Capital of Mystery
How it plays:
Players step into character and mingle freely across three Acts, sharing secrets, questioning one another, trading clues, examining evidence, and building theories. At the end, everyone votes for the killer using motive, means, and opportunity. The host then opens the selected sealed reveal—and even the killer learns the truth only at that moment.
Perfect for:
Christmas parties, family gatherings, office celebrations, festive dinner parties, friend groups, holiday weekends, and anyone looking for a cozy, interactive alternative to ordinary party games. Suitable for 4–30 players and designed to be easy for first-time hosts.

Reviews from Real Detectives
"The Greed & Gouda kit turned our ordinary Saturday dinner into a full-blown Wall Street whodunit. The host script was fool-proof — even for first-timers. Our guests are already begging for the next game night!"
"I needed a fresh idea for our remote team social. The mystery kept 24 coworkers laughing and collaborating for two solid hours. HR is making this a standing tradition."
"We ran the mystery for my daughter's birthday on Zoom. The story was clean, the clues were challenging, and setup took less than an hour. Parents messaged me asking where to buy their own kit."
"I've purchased mystery kits from three other sites. None matched the polish of Capital of Mystery. Instant downloads, gorgeous PDFs, and clear Host vs. Player sections — zero spoilers. Five stars."
"We hosted the 1920s Speakeasy game for a birthday dinner and everyone stayed in character longer than expected. The evidence cards made the night feel organized but still gave everyone room to improvise."
"The game worked perfectly for our group of 18. I loved that the instructions were clear, the roles felt balanced, and even quieter guests had useful secrets and clues to share."
"I was nervous about hosting for the first time, but the host guide made it easy. We printed everything the same afternoon and played that night. The final reveal got a huge reaction."
