Plot:
On Halloween night, the ancient halls of Ravencrest Estate open for the Crimson Succession Banquet. Lord Victor Nightshade has summoned rival vampire houses, loyal servants, reformers, outsiders, and old enemies for one final gathering. Before dawn, he intends to name his successor—and reveal a decree that could change the fate of Ravencrest forever.
But when the lights are extinguished for the traditional Veil Rite, the celebration turns deadly.
As Lord Victor raises the silver-lined Founder’s Chalice, strange gray vapor rises from the drink. Moments later, he collapses beside the Founder’s Table. When the lights return, a broken wooden stake, scattered silver dust, a torn Ravencrest crest, and a mysterious hunter’s calling card suggest that a human vampire hunter has somehow infiltrated the estate.
