The Lucky Mirage Saloon.
Shootout & Sassafras
Plot:
The year is the 1880s, and the doors of The Lucky Mirage Saloon are open for a night of whiskey, cards, secrets, and frontier suspicion.
Amber “Lady” Crane, the most feared broker in town, has gathered a room full of people whose futures she controls. Inside her private ledger, The Book of Names, are debts, forged papers, hidden identities, land claims, gambling scandals, tonic secrets, and old crimes powerful enough to ruin lives.
Before midnight, Lady Crane raises her glass and delivers one chilling warning:
*Ownership changes tonight.”
Minutes later, a single gunshot tears through the saloon. The painted mirror behind the bar shatters, and Lady Crane falls dead near the bar rail.
Everyone heard the shot, but nobody agrees where it came from. Some swear it came from the faro table. Others point to the bar rail, the doorway, or the stage.
Now the guests must question each other, trade secrets, inspect evidence, follow motives, and decide who killed Lady Crane before the truth is revealed.

No. This is a free-mingling social deduction game. Players do not read long scripts. Instead, they question each other, trade clues, hide secrets, inspect evidence, and build their own theories.
No. The killer does not know until the final reveal. This keeps the game fair, replayable, and fun for every player.
Yes, one person should act as the host to choose the killer version, reveal evidence by act, keep time, and run the final reveal.
For the best experience, the host should not play as a suspect because they know the chosen solution. They can still enjoy the game by narrating, managing evidence, and watching the mystery unfold.
No special props are required. You can play with only the printed kit, but Western decorations, costumes, and saloon-style props can make the night more immersive.
Guests can wear simple Western-inspired outfits such as cowboy hats, vests, boots, prairie-style dresses, suspenders, bandanas, or saloon-themed accessories.
Yes. The host guide explains how to run the game step by step, and players only need to read their own character folio and follow the act instructions.
The theme includes a fictional murder mystery, secrets, suspicion, and frontier drama. It is best suited for teens and adults or groups comfortable with murder mystery themes.
Yes. It works well around a dinner table, living room, or party space. Players can mingle between courses or play as a full game-night activity.

Reviews from Real Detectives
"The Greed & Gouda kit turned our ordinary Saturday dinner into a full-blown Wall Street whodunit. The host script was fool-proof — even for first-timers. Our guests are already begging for the next game night!"
"I needed a fresh idea for our remote team social. The mystery kept 24 coworkers laughing and collaborating for two solid hours. HR is making this a standing tradition."
"We ran the mystery for my daughter's birthday on Zoom. The story was clean, the clues were challenging, and setup took less than an hour. Parents messaged me asking where to buy their own kit."
"I've purchased mystery kits from three other sites. None matched the polish of Capital of Mystery. Instant downloads, gorgeous PDFs, and clear Host vs. Player sections — zero spoilers. Five stars."
"We hosted the 1920s Speakeasy game for a birthday dinner and everyone stayed in character longer than expected. The evidence cards made the night feel organized but still gave everyone room to improvise."
"The game worked perfectly for our group of 18. I loved that the instructions were clear, the roles felt balanced, and even quieter guests had useful secrets and clues to share."
"I was nervous about hosting for the first time, but the host guide made it easy. We printed everything the same afternoon and played that night. The final reveal got a huge reaction."
