The Last Christmas
at Mistletoe Manror
Plot:
Christmas Eve, 1936. A fierce snowstorm has cut Mistletoe Manor off from the outside world, trapping an uneasy gathering of relatives, servants, neighbours, and old associates inside the grand country estate.
During an extravagant Christmas dinner, the manor’s wealthy and notoriously controlling owner, Sir Alistair, makes a chilling announcement: this will be their final Christmas together. He has prepared a new will, and before the night ends, some guests will be rewarded—while others will lose their inheritance, livelihood, reputation, or carefully protected secrets.
Alistair carries his mulled wine into the library to collect the document and locks the door behind him. He never returns.
When the library is finally forced open, Alistair is found dead beside his writing desk. The key lies inside the room, the windows are sealed by untouched snow, and the grandfather clock has stopped at 10:17. No one was seen entering or leaving, yet someone inside Mistletoe Manor prepared his death before he crossed the library threshold.
Over three tense acts, players must uncover hidden relationships, question contradictory alibis, trade secrets, examine physical evidence, and determine which guest possessed the motive, means, and opportunity to turn Christmas Eve into murder. With four replayable killer versions, the mystery can unfold differently each time.

No. This is a freeform interactive mystery. Players mingle, trade clues, reveal secrets, compare alibis, make accusations, and build their own theories rather than reading long scripts.
The host secretly chooses one of four killer versions before play and uses the matching evidence and solution guide. The killer’s player does not know they are the killer until the sealed reveal after voting.
Yes, although a non-playing host gives the smoothest experience. A playing host must prepare the chosen evidence and sealed reveal carefully without sharing the solution.
Yes. The game includes four different killer versions, each using the same characters and core mystery with two version-specific evidence cards and a different final solution.
No. Sir Alistair is a non-player victim, so every guest receives an active character role in the investigation.
The difficulty is medium. Players must connect motive, means, opportunity, witness information, and physical evidence, but the kit includes clear act-based clues and host guidance.
Each player receives a detailed character folio with a public identity, private objective, secrets, suspicions, clues, conversation prompts, alibi guidance, and a final accusation ballot.
The host chooses a killer version, assigns characters, prints the matching folios and evidence, places evidence into act envelopes, and follows the included narration and cue script.
Yes. Costumes, signs, props, and decorations are optional. The mystery can be played with only the essential printed materials.

Reviews from Real Detectives
"The Greed & Gouda kit turned our ordinary Saturday dinner into a full-blown Wall Street whodunit. The host script was fool-proof — even for first-timers. Our guests are already begging for the next game night!"
"I needed a fresh idea for our remote team social. The mystery kept 24 coworkers laughing and collaborating for two solid hours. HR is making this a standing tradition."
"We ran the mystery for my daughter's birthday on Zoom. The story was clean, the clues were challenging, and setup took less than an hour. Parents messaged me asking where to buy their own kit."
"I've purchased mystery kits from three other sites. None matched the polish of Capital of Mystery. Instant downloads, gorgeous PDFs, and clear Host vs. Player sections — zero spoilers. Five stars."
"We hosted the 1920s Speakeasy game for a birthday dinner and everyone stayed in character longer than expected. The evidence cards made the night feel organized but still gave everyone room to improvise."
"The game worked perfectly for our group of 18. I loved that the instructions were clear, the roles felt balanced, and even quieter guests had useful secrets and clues to share."
"I was nervous about hosting for the first time, but the host guide made it easy. We printed everything the same afternoon and played that night. The final reveal got a huge reaction."
